Coach Nate provides baseball lessons in Glendale at Scholl Canyon Baseball Fields
Short Bio:
I am a baseball coach and enthusiast who has experience playing up to the college level as well as umpire at the high school level, giving me a nuanced perspective on the game from a number of different angles. I have always been a student of the game and understand the physical abilities as well as the mental approach that goes into being a successful ballplayer and I hope to instill these traits in everyone that I coach.
Coaching Experience:
-Varsity Pitching Coach, Glendale High School (2020-2021)
-Youth Little League Coach, Crescenta Sports Association (2016-2018)
I have studied baseball my whole life and want to pass on as much of that knowledge to the next generation that I can and help them improve their skillsets.
Playing Experience:
-3 year varsity player in high school
-2 years in NCAA DIII baseball and still going
-Honored with Most Dedicated Player Award in 2019
-Scholar Athlete every year I have played
I have been playing baseball for as long as I can remember and like to think of myself as a cerebral player who can oftentimes outsmart the competition. I take a lot of pride in learning the different strategies that take shape in games and hope to pass on some of that knowledge to my pupils, so that they can have some of the success that I had.
A lesson with me:
I would have a little bit of a back and forth with the player so we could get to know each other a little and then we’d talk about goals. Then I would see what the kid brings to the table from a playing perspective and try to make some adjustments that can help them take a step forward in their game.
My favorite motivational quote:
“If you want to get better at something you should go out there and fail at it.”
-Rich Hill
