Coach Navari provides baseball lessons in Baldwin Hills at Baldwin Hills Recreation Center
Short Bio:
My name is Coach Navari Julius. As a baseball coach, it is my passion to train young players on everything they need to know to become the best baseball player they can be. I focus heavily on teaching the fundamentals and details of the game, especially to those who make it clear to me that they have the goal of becoming a great baseball player. I will teach you how to hit, pitch, play defense, get faster, and improve your overall baseball IQ and understanding of the game. I take pride in helping my young players become forces at the plate and on the field by instilling confidence and self-awareness in them.
I have played baseball my whole life all the way up until I was a college player about to be drafted. Unfortunately I was injured and had my career cut short. I never lost my passion for the game, in fact I have never stopped learning and I have fallen in love with my position as a private baseball coach. I love the chance to share all my 23+ years of knowledge and experience playing baseball with all ages willing to learn. My coaching philosophy is always have fun on the baseball field because when you love what you do, you put forth your best effort. I’m excited to work with you!

A lesson with me:
I will always make sure my players learn the fundamentals. I also love helping my players understand the importance of and how to take care of their bodies. I always start my sessions with some light conditioning, specifically dynamic stretching. Stretching is imperative whether it comes to practicing hitting, fielding, throwing, and/or pitching, as we need to warm up our muscles in order for us to perform our best to the best of our abilities. Depending on the lesson plan, we will then work on throwing mechanics, speed and agility, defensive skills and drills, and hitting drills.
For hitting we will work on mechanics like staying inside of the ball while also incorporating some new school approaches with adding more power to each hit. I teach a modified version of pitching that emphasizes the player using more of their lower half of their body so the pressure and strain if taken off of their arms thus reducing swelling as well as reducing pain and most importantly an injury that can comes with using the wrong mechanics.
My favorite motivational quote:
“Give it all you can on the field and never second guess yourself!”
