We prioritize teaching our players strong fundamental mindsets from a young age.
When our youth players are creating champion habits and doing what they can to get better EVEryday, that’s…
1 – “the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way.”
2 – “the general desire or willingness of someone to do something.”
1 – “recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something.”
2 – “a full understanding of a situation.”
“the quality of being dedicated or committed to a task or purpose.”
“EVEryday is the only way. Understanding the bigger picture and staying connected to your why, or your reason, for doing what you do. This is EVEryday.”
We definitely teach the physical fundamentals and skills to be a great baseball player, but in the beginning we prioritize our teaching focus on laying a foundational mindset and approach to the way our players think, respond, and process things that happen. When it comes to being great on the field, it is important to create a foundation of self-awareness, personal accountability, and championship habit programming.
At MADE Baseball we are detailed in our approach. We understand the importance of creating a real connection with our player, and we meet them where they are in their life and their desire to improve in baseball. We do not have a one size fits all approach to the players we work with; we focus on understanding the personality and goals of the player we are working with and we tailor our approach to what will help them develop in the best way possible.
Baseball is hard. It helps to create thick skin. It serves to allow us an opportunity to experience repeated failure, and the necessity of constantly getting back up, dusting ourselves off, and trying again.
When you are lucky enough to have a coach who truly cares about you and helps you tap into the part of you that connects that is a champion, the world begins to change.
We take our role as youth baseball coaches and mentors seriously, and we work hard to continue improving and refining our coaching craft day after day.
We reiterate this rule day in and day out through the lifetime of our training. If our players are consistently feeling like they aren’t having fun, then its time for them to re-think baseball as one of their activities/pursuits. We teach them that it is vital to have fun in all facets of life and to always see the positive in every situation.
No matter what we choose to do in life, be it baseball, painting, soccer, or computer programming, we need to make sure our players understand that there is no other option on the table other than giving their absolute best when choosing to engage in any activity they are putting their energy into. This is a fundamental mindset and thought process that must be mirrored at home as well.
For our beginners, we aim to create a strong foundation of baseball acumen so that our players understand what is happening in the game come season. We focus heavily on teaching the rules of the game and helping our players understand game situations before we focus on the fundamentals. All minds, and especially young minds, develop better when they are in play and having to think critically, rather than having to repeat drills.
During our private baseball lessons, we work with our players on a variety of baseball drills, hitting drills, catching drills, and fielding drills. Our primary goal for our youth players is to help them create a solid foundation of thinking fundamentals and understanding of the game, and to develop their physical skills over time and repetition.
